Counselor and Head of Chancery

 

Mr Md Saiful Islam has joined the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS Administration) on 14 February 1988. He did his Bachelors (with Honours) and Masters degree in Sociology from the University of Dhaka.

 

        Mr Islam has completed a course in ‘Financial Management’ from the Streath Clyde University in Scotland. He has attended courses on ‘Capital Market Development Programme’ in Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India. He has undergone training on ‘Advanced Technology on Computers’ in the Colombo Plan Staff Collage in the Philippines and on ‘Housing and Environment’ in Japan and the United States of America.

 

 

Mr Islam has worked as Assistant Commissioner & Magistrate in Sylhet, Assistant Commissioner (Land) in Chandina, Comilla, Assistant Secretary of the Finance Division, Deputy Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Establishment, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Begumganj of Nokhali district, Magistrate of RAJUK, Director of Purbachal Project of RAJUK, Private Secretary to the Secretary of the Ministry of Housing & Public Works, Private Secretary to the Foreign Minister and Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before taking this assignment in the Bangladesh Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

 

        He is married to Mrs Zulfiya Islam and blessed with a son named Pranto.
