Green effort by Bangladeshis

MORE than 250 people from the Bangladesh community gathered to conduct a clean-up at the Marina Corniche area, near the Ahmed Al Fateh Mosque (Grand Mosque) yesterday.

The group collected polythene bags, bottles, cans and other harmful waste.

The event was organised by the Bangladesh Forum (the co-ordinating body of all Bangladeshi societies in Bahrain) and attended by Bangladesh Ambassador Ruhul Amin as well as officials from the embassy and Municipalities and Agriculture Ministry.

The clean-up was held to mark Labour Day yesterday and to raise awareness about protection of the environment.
