Foreign Minister of Bahrain receives the Ambassador of Bangladesh |

Bahrain 2 July 2007: Ambassador M. Ruhul Amin paid a farewell call on His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Foreign Minister of Bahrain on Monday 2 July 2007. The Ambassador expressed his sincere thanks and deep gratitude to the Foreign Minister for the unstinted support received in carrying out his mission-strengthening and expanding relations between Bangladesh and Bahrain.
The Minister praised the good efforts made and the initiative taken by the Ambassador in developing and expanding bilateral relations. He expressed satisfaction at the successful outcome of the recent visit of H.E. Dr. Nezar S. Al Baharna, State Minister for Foreign Affairs. He reaffirmed the decision to appoint a non-Resident Ambassador to Bangladesh by the end of the year.
The Minister underlined the importance of closer follow up and implementation of the two existing bilateral Agreement on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation and the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation. He expressed appreciation for the initiatives taken by the Ambassador in reviving and finalizing the draft bilateral agreements on Air Services, Promotion and Protection of Investments and Avoidance of Double Taxation.
The Foreign Minister also praised the initiatives taken by the Ambassador to strengthen people-to-people contacts in particular establishing the Bahrain-Bangladesh Friendship Forum (BBFF). He hoped that Bahrain-Bangladesh relations will see significant developments in the coming days. He expressed the hope that there will be further exchange of high level visits between Bangladesh and Bahrain.
