Bangladesh School Bahrain
The Bangladesh School was founded in April 1996 at the initiative Bangladesh Community and supported by Bangladesh Embassy. It was established to afford education to the children of expatriate Bangladesh nationals under Bangladesh School Board Curricula to pursue further education in Bangladesh. The medium of instruction in the School is English while Bangla is taught in every class. It is presently located at Kanoo Garden, Gufool
The School which started with 6 students in 1996 now has 435 students and 25 teachers and spans from year 1 ( LKG) to year X. while most of the children are Bangladeshi, there are 29 children from the expatriate communities of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Ethiopia.
Students of the school have demonstrated brilliant performance in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination under the Intermediate and Secondary Education Board of Dhaka in consecutive years. Passing rate in SSC Examination is 100% and most of them secured Grade A.
The school is run by a Managing Committee. The Ambassador of Bangladesh is the Chief Patron ex officio. There are currently two patrons – Mr. Mohammed A. Muiz Chowdhury and Ms. Shanaz Azad. Following is the composition of the Managing Committee set up on an ad-hoc basis on 4 May 2007:
